Existing warehouses on historic Pierpont Avenue in Salt Lake City were converted into forty-nine unique urban living spaces. Lowell Construction had extensive initial input in the design and made ongoing recommendations. One of these resulted in an innovative method for seismic upgrading at a considerable cost savings for the developers. The materials originally used to build the warehouses were preserved and enhanced. The red clay brick used for the walls was treated and preserved, the original hardwood maple floors were sanded and the original post and beam construction was strengthened and remains intact. The end result is dwelling units that are perfectly matched to modern urban living styles.
