Built
in 1906, the building served as a
residence and as the laboratory for the owner’s mining
technique experiments. Although on the National Historical
Register, years of neglect rendered it uninhabitable. Purchased
by gallery owners to be used for gallery and retail space,
this imaginative renovation
included artists from the outset. Based on the owners’
desires to make the process a true collaboration, the architect,
engineers, artists and general contractor attended all meetings
from the inception of the project. The project received
